Devante Cole has had his contract terminated at West Bromwich Albion in order for him to join Port Vale, with Football League World revealing that the striker was due to link-up with former Baggies boss Darren Moore in this transfer window's final moments.
The 30-year-old striker arrived at The Hawthorns last season having come off the back off an 18-goal season with Barnsley in League One.
He only played a bit-part role in the West Midlands, however, scoring just one goal from 16 first-team appearances in all competitions. Now, he has made his way back into League One by way of Port Vale.
Devante Cole's time at West Bromwich Albion has been a bitter disappointment.

The striker arrived with a good deal of goalscoring pedigree, coming from impressive numerical seasons with Barnsley at League One level, but was unable to replicate his prolific goal-scoring form under Carlos Corberan, James Morrison or Tony Mowbray, failing to start a single Championship game under either of them.
His time at The Hawthorns has now come to a close before the transfer window shortly slams shut, with his contract paid up by West Brom in order to clear him off their books and facilitate a shift back down to League One with Port Vale.
