Dutch Wonderkid Drops MAJOR Hint On National Team Future

This Dutch Talent Just Dropped A HUGE Hint On His National Team Allegiance

The Netherlands may be set to lose one of their biggest talents in the not-so-distant future, as a 21-year-old Eredivisie regular may be swapping national allegiances to play senior football for another country.

Rome-Jayden Owuso-Odoro is the player in question, with a video of the Purmerend-born goalkeeper speaking of his admiration for the Ghanaian national team and his potential desire to represent them in the future.

Owuso-Odoro is eligible to play for both the Dutch and Ghanaian national teams at a senior level through his parents - his father being from Ghana and his mother from The Netherlands. He has been on the books with Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar since he was just 11-years-old, and has featured in 62 first-team matches since breaking through as the club's number one goalkeeper back in 2024, aged just 19 at the time.

Owuso-Odoro's National Decision

It remains to be seen whether or not the 21-year-old talent will represent The Netherlands or Ghana in the future of his national career, but it feels suffice to say that he will certainly turn out onto some form of national stage through the duration of his career.

The AZ goalkeeper is renown as one of the top talents in world football, having accumulated over 60 senior appearances since making his first-team debut in 2023, aged just 19. He would break through as the team's number-one goalkeeper soon after, and has outed himself as one of the top young goalies in world football.

Now, an old video has re-surfaced of the Dutchman discussing his international future. Owuso-Odoro stopped short of confirming his allegiance nationally, but spoke highly of his admiration for the Ghanaian national team and stated that he would "love" to represent them one day.
