Celebrities Come Out of Hiding as Aaron Ramsey Confirms End of Career... and Killing Spree

Get David Attenborough out of the bubble wrap. Unlock the door to Mary Berry's safehouse and tell Ant and Dec that they need not be so worrisome any longer.

Former Wales and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has called an end to his on-field playing career, bringing the curtain down on an illustrious spell that saw him tot up over 500 appearances spread over time with seven different clubs, whilst also earning 86 caps and scoring 21 goals for his country.

The former Gunners midfielder picked up three FA Cup titles during an 11-year stay with Arsenal, and has been without a team since ending a short spell in Mexico with Pumas last year.

Ramsey Pays Tribute After Ending Playing Career

Ramsey paid tribute to the end of his career on Instagram, stating the beginning of the 'next chapter' in his life.

'This has not been an easy decision to make. After a lot of consideration, I have decided to retire from football.'

Ramsey thanked his national team, Wales, for their support during his 86-cap career, as well as the seven different clubs he represented.

'And a huge thank you to my wife and children and all my family,' he added. 'Without you by my side throughout, none of this would have been possible.'

The 'Ramsey Curse' Comes to an End

Aaron Ramsey's career was one of glitter and accolade. The Cardiff City academy graduate picked up nine major trophies across his career, including a Serie A title with Juventus, whilst finishing as a runner-up for European glory by way of the Europa League twice, with Arsenal and Rangers.

But one common running joke has been the slew of celebrity passings that have occurred shortly after a goal from 'Rambo' over his illustrious career.

His final goal, a 92nd-minute winner against Atlas, coincided with the death of famous Italian fashion designed Giorgio Armani just four days later.

Typically, when Ramsey scored a goal, the world of fame, fortune and fashion held its collective breath, as a celebrity often met their end in the following days after the Welshman found the net. There’s a probably-not-credible track record of this, with more than 25 celebs falling foul of the curse over the course of his career.

Ramsey's Emotional Pet Search

Aaron Ramsey made only six appearances for Mexican side Pumas over 2025 before agreeing a mutual end to his contract to head home. This came after the Welshman's beloved dog, Halo, went missing during his family's stay in the country, disappearing in San Miguel de Allende on the 9th of October.

Halo was wearing a tracking collar at the time of her disapperance near a dog shelter, with Ramsey sharing the location pin from Google Maps and pleading for assistance from locals. He had offered a $10k reward for information, upped to $20k after a week of no progress. Heartbreakingly, the search was to no avail as the family departed without the dog.

His wife, Colleen, stated at the time of the incident that she had 'serious questions' regarding the missing pet, and stated her fears that they 'may never get answers'. She also added; 'We still haven't found Halo. I don't think we ever will'.

The story was one that broke the hearts of fans worldwide, and leaves his retirement from the game perfectly understandable. Many things, after all, are far bigger than football.
