England Have Defeated Mexico and These Twitter Posts Show that the Internet Has Lost It’s Mind
Social Media Reacts as England Beat Mexico
I'm still on cloud-fuckin-nine, mate.
England's huge win over Mexico last night, one that booked their space against Norway in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, was as good as any I can possibly remember.
To a man, Thomas Tuchel's men were in scintillating form throughout. They had the necessary moments of quality to weather a Mexican storm (literally and metaphorically) and bag three goals, whilst a steadfast defence headbutted everything spherical that dared bounce up in front of them.
Jude Bellingham is a hound's knackers and Dan Burn's inclusion in the squad got justified with six stiff headers. What a wonderful evening, and suddenly I'm full of national pride (no roundabout paint just yet, mind).
But the true diamonds were found splattered across social media last night. So obviously we are going to take a walk through all of the best moments from a game that truly had a little bit of everything.

Dan Burn was outrageous coming on last night. The 6'7 (don't) defender made the most clearances of anyone in the game despite only being on for 15 minutes. He headed one Mexican cross so hard, from inside his own box, that it didn't touch the ground until it reached the Mexican half. What a stud.

Yeah... that ended well.
Jarell Quansah's inclusion at right-back for this game drew a lot of attention. Spence had a knock and Reece James, obviously, got hurt so we had to put the big lump on the flanks. And, lo and behold, he crocked Jesus Gallardo with a piss-missile of a tackle that went high up his leg and saw him dismissed. Oh how we laughed.

Ooo, a self-shoutout. What a wanker.
"Gordon! Fuck You!"
Mexico v England really was the gift that kept giving.

The moment here when Mexico head coach Javier Aguirre had some fun with Anthony Gordon 😂

Just absolute gold. I was wondering in the moment what Javier Aguirre had said to make him and Gordon laugh, but the observant amongst us online managed to pick it out.
What a bloke, and a mental one at that. I've only just crossed paths with him but I love him.
David Bentley With Fans on Strings

You're not in 'Sicario', chaps.
David Bentley, former Tottenham wizkid and all-round blokey bloke, had these two strange men on strings whilst the game was ongoing. Unfazed by the half-hearted threats on his life, Bentley calmly called them wankers and carried on watching his nation beat theirs. That's proper England.

This is what we love to see. And the best part? Because Jude Bellingham had scored just 98 seconds prior, everyone had already thrown their £11.60 pints in the air, so none of that forced shite was on display for his second.
Misery-guts aside, watching streams of England fans packing out pubs in the wee hours of the morning was a beautiful sight to behold.

Love that! 🥹❤️🏴 pic.twitter.com/yh3gpTRL9Q
Things you love to see. The nation's most-loved current striker and arguably their most-loved former striker in a tearful, joyous union after the full-time whistle. It just makes you want a Carling and a rendition of the national anthem.

To get so worked up and passionate over a result that your voice completely fails on you is another instalment in what was a tremendous evening.
Kane was a scorer on the night and clearly was screaming his colleagues on to a famous victory in Mexico last night, which clearly left a big impact on his voice. Seriously, click that video. He sounds like Joe Pesci shagged a balloon.
