25-year-old England international Angel Gomes has completed his medical at bottom Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers and will be announced as a new player in the next few days.
Wolves have been pursuing the Marseille midfielder and have agreed to a loan deal worth just under £1m with an option to buy for around £7m come the end of the season.
Gomes had fallen out of favour at the French club under De Zerbi and had been said to favour a move back to England and got his wish just as the deadline passed.
Wolves had an eventful deadline day, which saw a couple of notable departures in defender Agbadou and wantaway striker Strand Larsen, who completed a move to Crystal Palace.
Personally, I think this is our strongest lineup if we sign Angel Gomes. #wwfc pic.twitter.com/hyrc7s2H21

That put Wolves in a position where reinforcements were needed, and the signings of both striker Adam Armstrong and the mentioned Angel Gomes have provided exactly that.
Wolves are likely already condemned to relegation this season but will be looking to restore some level of pride throughout the res of the season, and Angel Gomes could give them that bit of extra quality needed to pick up some points going forward.
