Erik Ten Hag has decided he needs a new striker
Rasmus Højlund was supposed to solve all of Manchester United's goal scoring problems this season, after he was signed for £63.3 million from Atalanta last summer.
Although the Danish striker has scored the most goals for the club in 2023/24, with 13, manager Erik ten Hag has admitted this, when asked if the Red Devils could do with a proven goalscorer this summer:
"I think it would help.
"You need more options. You need double positioning in every position.
"Some positions we didn't have the choices this season - the striker position, the left-back position - and that has a negative impact on the results."

This season, United are currently 6th in the Premier League and 11 points behind the UEFA Champions League spots, as they head to Bournemouth for the late Saturday afternoon kick-off.
Marcus Rashford was also 'supposed' to add to the goals this season, but has so far only scored on eight occasions, in 38 fixtures. French forward Anthony Martial, has only scored twice all season.
"In this plan we constructed we should have had enough goals," claimed ten Hag. "You count on goals from Rashford - last season he scored 30. You count on goals from Martial - in my first season he played very well, and also in very important games he had a high impact on our performances.
"And then bringing a goalscorer like Rasmus Hojlund in, it should have been enough goals."
Aside from West Ham United, ten Hag's side have the worst goal difference (-1) and scored the least goals (45) in the top half of the Premier League after 31 games. Luton Town, who are currently 18th, have scored the same amount of goals.
