Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, looks set to become Fenerbahce head coach.

Mourinho will replace Ismail Kartal, after Fenerbahce failed to win the Turkish Super Lig, conceding the title to Galatasaray.

Mourinho has been wildly successful throughout his managerial career, spending time with Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter, Manchester United and other top clubs.

His most recent stint at Roma brought Europa Conference League glory, but he was let go when Roma’s form faltered earlier this season.

Now he’ll try his hand in Turkey for the first time.

Fenerbahce and Nigerian football legend, Emmanuel Emeninke has spoken about the arrangement saying:

“It is a great appointment for Fenerbahce. He is a very high profile manager known globally. His success everywhere he has been speaks for itself.

I can’t wait to see what he can do”

Emenike, would go on to highlight what the appointment means to the club as whole. Emphasising how massive the appointment of Mourinho is not only to the club but to Turkish football as a whole.

“It is massive. It will bring more eyes over to the club from across the world.” he said

“This appointment clearly shows the size of a team like Fenerbahce. Mourinho wouldn’t join a club that wasn’t huge or that didn’t show ambition moving forward.
