Football Match Preview: Leicester City v Tottenham Hotspur - Analysis & Insights
Leicester City rejoin the Premier League with their first match back against Europa League side Tottenham Hotspur, who are looking to reach the top four this season. There is some history between these sides, from Harry Kane hat tricks to Robert Huth headers, there have been some great moments between them. As the promoted side, Leiecester have the odds stacked against them, with a squad which is very different to the one that went down in 2023. The obvious difference is that James Maddison is now on the other team's lineup and it will be interesting to see how we can perform against his former side.
Last season Leicester City won the Championship but they didn't make it look easy. After leading for most of the season they let a lead of over 10 points slip and scrambled in the final weeks to win back the title off the likes of Ipswich and Leeds. In the end they were crowned champions, winning automatic promotion to the Premier League with a total of 97 points and a win rate of 67%.
Tottenham started life under Ange Postecoglu last season and after a heroic start with goals flying in, the atmosphere around the club slowly went back to normal. After having initial hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, Spurs had to miss out thanks to Unai Emery's Aston Villa side forcing Spurs into 5th. Tottenham finished the season with a total of 66 points and a win rate of 52.6%.

Tottenham Hotspur 2023/24
Leicester are missing two strikers for this match with Patson Daka and last season's top scorer Jamie Vardy both out. Conor Coady will also miss this match due to a hamstring issue.
Yves Bissouma will miss this fixture after being suspended by the club due to a controversial social media of him in the summer.
The only injury problem for Spurs is Richarlison who is not entirely match fit, after having to recover from a claf injury, leaving it open for Solanke to start.
Leicester City: Hermansen; Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin; Winks, Ndidi, Soumare; Reid, Mavididi, Fatawu.
Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Solanke.
Dominik Solanke is our player to watch for this match as the ex-Bournemotuh striker has only recently signed for Spurs. With no time in pre-season under Postecoglu it will be interesting to see how quick a start Solanke can have in lily-white. The English forward was unfortunate to not travel with the England squad to the Euros last summer after scoring 19 times in the Premier League last season and getting 0.6 g/a per 90. With better players around him, Solanke should succeed.
