FOOTBALL PARK EXCLUSIVE: Dortmund and Former Wolves Frontman Wanted by Turkey Turkish Giants
EXCLUSIVE: Fabio Silva Set For Dortmund Farewell as Turkish Giants Circle
Football Park exclusively understands that Borussia Dortmund striker and former Wolves man Fabio Silva is on the brink of a move to Turkey, with Galatasaray entering the race after the player initiated talks with Trabzonspor.
The 24-year-old, who Dortmund signed for €22.5 million last summer, has played for seven clubs since leaving Porto for Wolves in 2020. This includes four loan stints while on the books at the Birmingham outfit, during which time he turned out for sides including Belgian giants Anderlecht and Scottish side Rangers.

Turkish interest in the Portuguese forward is another clear indication that Super Lig transfer business is becoming more serious with every window - Mo Salah signed for Trabzonspor as a free agent earlier this summer, while Nathan Ake left Manchester City for Fenerbahce.
Fabio’s Future
Silva played a significant part for Dortmund throughout his debut season at the German club, appearing 40 times, including in all but one of their Champions League fixtures as they were knocked out in the round of 16 play-off round.
However, Serhou Guirassy’s presence Dortmund’s go-to starting striker meant that the majority of Silva’s appearances came off the bench or in games where the squad required rotation - he never truly broke into the team as a guaranteed starter despite his 10 goals and assists in all competitions.
For much of this summer, the one-time Portuguese international has attracted significant interest from Spain, with Real Betis, Villarreal and Real Sociedad all heavily linked with the player at various points throughout the summer.
This is largely thanks to Silva's strong showing during a loan spell at Las Palmas, where he scored 10 goals in 25 games, clearly showing himself to be well adapted for Spanish football.
However, Spanish interest has deteriorated in recent days, and Turkish club Trabzonspor saw an opening. It has been reported by some outlets that Trabzonspor want the 24-year-old on loan, but earlier in the summer it was indicated that Dortmund would be willing to sell if another side met their €20 million valuation of the forward.
It was even reported as recently as Monday morning that Silva had agreed a deal to sign for Trabzonspor, but our exclusive understanding that Galatasaray have made late entry into the race for his signature has the potential to completely change the direction of the strikers’ move.
Champions in each of the last four Super Lig seasons, Galatasaray have long boasted a reputation as Turkey’s premier side, and with a squad featuring the likes of Osimhen, Gabriel Sara, Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane, most would find it hard to argue.
Moreover, they lack significant squad depth at striker, with no direct replacement for Osimhen should he be injured or suspended, the perfect niche for Silva to fill.
It is not known yet whether Galatasaray have made an official proposal to Dortmund, but their mere presence around negotiations will certainly see any deal with Trabzonspor delayed if their domestic rivals come in with a more attractive financial package.
