Former Arsenal Man Signs For Besiktas

Former Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista has officially signed for Turkish side Besiktas.

Besiktas announced the signing of the Brazilian international today following the expiry of his contract at Atletico Madrid after his short term stint at the club.

Paulista made 23 appearances in La Liga last season after signing for them in January from Valencia.

Many will know him though from his time at Arsenal where he made 46 appearances and won two FA Cup titles.

Paulista becomes the first signing of the Giovanni Van Bronckhorst era at the club following his appointment last week.

This will be considered a very big signing for the Turkish side with Paulista coming in to greatly improve their defence and help bridge the gap between them and the teams above them in the league.
