French International Looks Set To Join Manchester United

07/06/24 11:49

Son and brother to Lilian Thuram and Marcus Thuram respectively, Khéphren Thuram has been playing for Nice since 2019 but this might be the year that he leaves France to pursue a move to England, more specifically the red side of Manchester.

Part owner of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe who also owns Nice, is one of the reasons why this deal has emerged at the time it has. It could allow for the two clubs to have a smoother process in making the signing compared to any other club.

Thuram was strongly linked with joining United rivals Liverpool last summer, but the Merseyside club eventually moved onto looking at other targets to bolster their midfield.

L’Equipe, who Football Park rate a tier three reliability source, have suggested that since the Frenchman has one year remaining on his current contract, he should cost around £25 million.

For that amount of money, it could be the bargain of the summer depending on how well the 23 year old performs in a Manchester United shirt because we have all seen how well he has played on a club and youth international level.

With United looking to rejuvenate an aging midfield, could Thuram and Mainoo be the paring that the club needs to make their way back to the top of English football?
