Fulham Eye Double-Deal for Arsenal Duo

04/06/24 17:45

Fulham look to be in pole position to sign both Emile Smith-Rowe and Eddie Nketiah this summer.

Marco Silva extended his contract at Craven Cottage, and given the rumours circling, it appears the Fulham hierarchy will financially back him this summer as they look to build on two back-to-back mid-table finishes.

Two of the players linked are out-of-favour Arsenal duo Emile Smith-Rowe and Eddie Nketiah. Both players came from Arsenal’s Hale End academy, so if sold their respective transfer fees will be purely profit for the Gunners.

Smith-Rowe was previously a key player at The Emirates, and was even handed the number 10 shirt following Mezut Ozil’s departure. However, injuries and tactical shifts mean that Smith-Rowe is no longer playing consistent minutes.

Nketiah, on the other hand, has actually played quite regularly this season. He grabbed a hattrick against Sheffield United back in November, but hasn’t been as prolific since.

That being said, both players are extremely talented and will be fantastic coups for a club of Fulham’s stature. The pair are still young, and are each full England internationals.

With Willian’s future in doubt, and Fulham looking to sign a striker to compete with Rodrigo Muniz, both signings make a great deal of sense for both parties. We’ll have to wait to see how this unfolds over the summer.

Fulham face competition from clubs in the Premier League and Serie A for both players.
