Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer looks to be nearing a long-awaited move to a top division, as reports have emerged that Dutch giants PSV are in advanced talks with the Blades attackers.

Hamer has been left unconvinced by new Blades boss Ruben Selles.

Hamer has been Sheffield’s star player over the last couple of seasons - across 88 games for the club, the Dutchman netted 16 goals and set up a further 15 for his teammates as he guided his side to the Championship play-off final, where they narrowly lost to Sunderland.
Long-touted as too good for the Championship, Hamer’s playmaking abilities and eye for a wondergoal have finally drawn deserved interest from high-profile leagues - as reported earlier this week, he was offered to multiple Premier League clubs on a loan deal, but many declined instead hoping for a permanent move on deadline day.

However, it seems top flight sides are going to be pipped to the post by Eindhoven, who have moved swiftly in their pursuit of the predominantly left-sided attacker.
Should the move go through, Hamer would be escaping something of a sinking ship - the Blades currently sit bottom of the Championship, and have just one goal to their name in the league (scored by Hamer). The 28-year-old will be hoping the pastures are greener abroad, with Eindhoven sitting fourth in the Eredivisie.
