How Kwame Poku is tearing up League One this season?

Kwame Poku: On the lips of everyone after the Peterborough United ace netted his first-ever hat-trick in an emphatic 6-1 win over Cambridge United at the Weston Homes Stadium.

The 23-year-old winger, who is in scintillating form, fired three past Cambridge just a day after clinching his second consecutive EFL League One Player of the Month award.

The win sent Poku top of the League One charts alongside Stockport County's Louie Barry, both on 10 goals each. The impact of Poku, however, stretches beyond the goals, as he has chipped in with five assists, making him one of the league's biggest attacking threats.

The annual derby between Peterborough and Cambridge was one-sided this year, with Posh in ruthless form, toting up four goals inside a quarter of an hour before halftime.

Ricky-Jade Jones, Malik Mothersille from the penalty spot, and Ryan De Havilland-netting his first goal of the season-joined Poku on the scoresheet in a dominant display that left the visitors reeling.

The victory added yet another memorable chapter to Poku's season, but there is plenty of intrigue about what comes next for the in-demand winger.

Out of contract at the end of the season, Poku is likely to have a number of offers waiting for him as soon as the January transfer window opens. However, Peterborough can still expect a transfer fee given he will be under 23 when his deal expires.

For now, Poku is firmly set on firing Peterborough toward promotion, although fans can only speculate for how much longer their talisman will remain in Weston Homes Stadium.
