Huddersfield Look to Loan Leicester Youngster Alves

League One outfit Huddersfield are close to bringing in 20-year-old Leicester winger Will Alves as a late attacking reinforcement, as the Terriers attempt to return to the Championship at the second time of asking.

Alves, who has already made six appearances for the Foxes senior side since 2022, spent the second half of last season on loan with Cardiff City in the second tier. While the Blue Birds were relegated at the end of the campaign, Alves impressed, scoring once and assisting three times in 15 games.

Capable of playing all across the line behind a centre forward, Alves is the versatile profile that League One sides like Huddersfield long for, and with his unpredictable nature, and ability to carry the ball long distances, the young Englishman.

A Smart Deal?

For Leicester City, this is a sensible deal. At his young age, and with his relative inexperience, Alves would not have played regularly for the Foxes this season, at least not in the Championship.

As a result, a loan move is the best deal for both sides here - Leicester send away a young player to hopefully develop and grow into a worthy first team squad member, while Huddersfield acquire a top young talent to help in the efforts to get out of League One as quickly as possible.

Leicester were disappointingly relegated from the Premier League last season with just 25 points, while Huddersfield finished 10th in League One.
