Hull City Star Involved in Car Crash... Again

For the second time in just three weeks, a car accident outside Hull City's training facility has seen a car flipped onto it's roof.

On the 11th of September this year, Tigers winger Sorba Thomas walked away unscathed after a car accident saw his vehicle flipped onto it's roof.

Now, less than three weeks later and following warnings from residents and the local council, a second car has been involved in a similar accident with photos coming out this morning showing a car on it's side, found down the narrow Millhouse Woods Lane road which leads up to the club's Cottingham training facility.

No-Claims Buggered in Hull

Images have emerged online this morning of a Mercedes car flipped onto it's side, with full details currently unavailable as to how the accident came about. No confirmation has been provided by the club, but it has been understood by local media that the car belongs to summer signing Luca Gourna-Douath, who has walked away from the accident with no problems, just like Thomas did.

A statement given to Hull Live from Humberside Police said: "Officers and emergency services were called to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham at around 8.30am this morning (Thursday, 1 October 2026). Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the collision.”

Millhouse Woods Lane is a very narrow street that leads to the club's training ground, with little room for cars to get through, and as such warnings have been issued in the past regarding the speed some vehicles have been going while travelling down the narrow stretch of road.

In the wake of the accident involving Sorba Thomas last month, Phil Redshaw, a local councillor issued a statement which said he had raised an issue with the club involving the need for players to be careful in approaching the training ground.

He said last month: "I wrote to the Hull City club secretary on Sunday asking them to remind players to be careful driving down the road because of the residents’ concerns. I wanted them to remind their staff to drive with extra care, because they get new players in every season.”

French midfielder Gourna-Douath is one of many new signings made by Hull City as they look to survive their first Premier League campaign in a decade. Bought from Austrian side RB Salzburg in the summer, he has made five appearances for the club so far as he looks to drive them away from the business end of the Premier League table (sorry.)
