Inter Milan's Valentin Carboni Completes Move to Olympique Marseille
Inter Milan and Valentin Carboni have officially completed the paperwork, and the young Argentine midfielder is now set to join Olympique Marseille on loan. After weeks of negotiations, the two clubs have reached a full agreement, sealing Carboni's move to the Ligue 1 side for the upcoming season.
The 19-year-old heads to Marseille on an initial loan deal, with an option for the French club to make the move permanent at the end of the season for a fee of €36 million. However, Inter Milan have retained significant leverage over Carboni's future, including a buy-back clause that allows the Nerazzurri to reclaim the player by repaying the transfer fee plus an additional €5 million.
Carboni, who has been eager for the opportunity to work under Marseille's manager Roberto De Zerbi, is excited about the move, viewing it as the right step at this stage in his career. The transfer was finalized after Carboni and Inter agreed on a contract extension, pushing his current deal from 2028 to 2029, further solidifying Inter's position should they decide to bring him back in the future.

This move comes after a successful loan spell at Monza last season, where Carboni's impressive performances caught the eye of many, including Argentina's national team coach Lionel Scaloni, who included him in the squad that won the Copa America.
Now, with the transfer completed, Carboni is set to head to Southern France, where he will join his new teammates and begin preparing for the upcoming Ligue 1 season. The young playmaker's move was finalized with a €1 million loan fee, and Marseille now have the chance to secure his talents long-term, with potential add-ons of up to €4 million included in the deal.
Despite Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi recognizing Carboni's talent, it was decided that the player's development would be best served by gaining more playing time elsewhere, as first-team opportunities at San Siro appeared limited this season. The Nerazzurri have thus opted to loan him out while keeping a close eye on his progress in Ligue 1.

With the move now complete, Carboni is ready to embrace his new challenge at Marseille, eager to make an impact in one of Europe's top leagues and continue his development under the guidance of De Zerbi. The teenager's transfer to Marseille marks an exciting new chapter in his career, and all eyes will be on him as he takes this significant step forward.
