Ipswich Advancing in Deal for Norwegian Talent

Ipswich are advancing in talks for Norwegian sensation Sindre Walle Egeli from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland, with a deal eyed for the winger as a replacement for the outgoing Omari Hutchinson, according to Mike McGrath.

Egeli, who operates primarily on the right, has established himself as a mainstay in the FC Nordsjaelland front line this campaign. Whilst also being deployed centrally and on the left, he represents an exciting and versatile potential addition to the Ipswich squad.

Notching 14 goal contributions in the Danish Superliga last season, Egeli has been linked with a whole host of clubs across Europe this window. With interest coming from both Holland and England earlier on in the summer, it is now looking like the tractor boys are fully fixed on securing the services of the 19-year-old Norwegian.

A Shining Light

In an underwhelming campaign so far for the Danish side, Egeli has continued to perform despite the struggles of his team in the early stages of this season. FC Nordsjaelland sit third from bottom, accumulating just six points from their opening six games and find themselves languishing towards the bottom of the Danish top-flight.

Although it hasn't quite gone to plan for the Danish outfit, Egeli has amounted two goals and two assists so far this time out. Averaging over four shots a game, the Norwegian leads the league in both shots and shots on target, and has cemented himself as one of the Danish Superliga's standout attacking threats.

Fresh from scoring the winner in a vital 1-0 win on Monday against Viborg, Egeli has continued to be a positive feature of an under-performing side this campaign and having not missed a single minute of their opening six games, Ipswich fans will no doubt be excited by both his availability and consistency.

Replacing The Void Of Hutchinson

Omari Hutchinson's big money departure to Nottingham Forest has left the Championship side tasked with replacing one of their most potent threats. With a long season ahead in England's second tier, Ipswich fans will be hoping the club can fill the void left by Hutchinson by bringing in a replacement who can hit the ground running.

Egeli certainly matches the profile of a young and exciting prospect, with the ability to light up the Championship this season. There is no doubt that Hutchinson will be dearly missed at Portman Road, but the potential arrival of the Norwegian may soften the blow of his departure. An undisputable talent, the addition of Egeli would be a real coup for Ipswich and their efforts in returning to the top-flight.
