Jack Grealish gives high praise to superb Notts County player

Manchester City forward Jack Grealish has praised his former teammate Dan Crowley after a remarkable performance on Friday night.

“Probably the best youngster I ever played with,” said Grealish on his Instagram story whilst watching Notts County vs Grimsby Town. “So good to see him back to his best and enjoying his football and of course for super Notts County.”

Crowley scored two and assisted once in the Notts’ 4-1 thrashing of Grimsby Town in League Two. His efforts got the attention of many fans in England, with a man of the match showing in the only professional English match on Friday.

Grealish and Crowley were both in the Aston Villa youth system, and played together at youth level for the Republic of Ireland way back in their careers. They’ve also both played for Notts County, with Grealish being sent out on loan there in 2013 from Aston Villa. They also both featured for England at youth level.

Crowley played an advanced midfield role against Grimsby on Friday and was by far the star player. So far this season he’s taken the most shots out of any Notts County player (13), and the most shots on target for any League Two player.

Now 27, Crowley has been through many ups and downs across his career, but now seems to be back to something close to his best.
