Jack Wilshere Set To Join Norwich Coaching Team
Championship side Norwich City look set to agree a deal for Jack Wilshere to join their first team coaching set up. This will see Wilshere replace Narcis Pelach at Norwich after he left to take over Stoke City.
Wilshere is apparently excited by the prospect of joining up with Johannes Hoff Thorup. The move is being made easy by Wilshere’s relationship with the Norwich sporting director who used to work at Arsenal.
Wilshere played for Arsenal, West Ham and Bournemouth during his playing career, but was forced to retire at the age of just 30 due to recurring injuries. Just four days after announcing his retirement, Wilshere was unveiled as the new under-18s coach at Arsenal.
He has had quite a successful stint in charge of the young Gunners as he led the team to the 2022/23 FA Youth Cup final, however his side were defeated by West Ham United at the Emirates.

In October of last year, Wilshere held talks with MLS side Colorado Rapids to become their head coach, however he turned down the move in favour of staying with Arsenal. It appears as though he is now ready to move on in his career and take his first step into first team coaching.
Mikel Arteta has said that Wilshere is a special coaching talent and that he has an “aura and charisma and a way of connecting with people.” Some of the under-18 squad that he took to the FA Youth Cup final have said that playing under him was different because Wilshere also played in the competition with Arsenal. His knowledge of the highest level of football is invaluable to any coaching team.
Norwich are seventh in the Championship so far this season and EFL expert Gab Sutton has said that they are really beginning to hit their stride this season. They parted ways with David Wagner in the summer and are currently being coached by Danish manager, Johannes Hoff Thorup.
