Jonathan David On The Move
Jonathan David is in demand at the moment, with various club trying to approach him to sign for them.
He is out of contract with French club Lille in the summer of next year and has not yet confirmed whether he is staying or going.
🚨 EXCL: Chelsea hold talks with reps of Lille striker Jonathan David over potential summer move. 24yo high among multiple #CFC options + contract 2025 so fee likely to be reasonable. No approach to #LOSC yet but good relations between clubs @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/o9AkmxvF0r

In Ligue 1 last season he was the joint second top goal scorer with 19 goals and added seven more to his tally through other competitions, finishing on 26. He provided nine assists across Ligue 1, UEFA Conference League, UEFA Conference League Qualifiers and the Coupe de France.
As well as this, he also averaged 0.65 goals and 1.60 shots on target per 90 minutes last season, something for Chelsea to keep in mind as they look to sort out their attacking issues.
Tier three Football Park rated source for reliability, MailSport have identified transfer targets for Chelsea and David has found himself on that list along side Maximilian Beier and Jhon Durán.

However, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid have all been interested in the Canadian and I believe that the clubs will go into a bidding war to get him, possibly overpaying his market value price in the process.
Transfermarkt evaluate David at €50 million which is great value for money considering today’s inflated market.
It is clear that Chelsea need a top quality striker as they look to move Romelu Lukaku on. Nicholas Jackson just isn’t at the level he needs to be, so David would be a great purchase for the London club.
Manchester United would be interested because Højlund didn’t live up to expectations, despite being injured for 13 matches for both Atalanta and Manchester United. Their cutthroat approach will likely see them try and buy David as their new starting striker after having bought a striker in either transfer window for the last five years.
Aston Villa would be dependent on Ollie Watkins’ departure as they are suffering from financial fair play regulations. David actually played against Villa in the UEFA Conference League Quarter Finals where Aston Villa actually knocked out David’s Lille on penalties even with him scoring his.
David has three great clubs in for him this summer, he just has to decide which style of play suits him best.
