LA Galaxy Closing In On Marco Reus Deal

17/07/24 17:06

Borussia Dortmund legend Marco Reus decided that it was time to leave the club at the end of last season after spending 12 years with The Black and Yellow. Since then he has been a free agent with various different clubs in pursuit of his signature but LA Galaxy seem to be the club he has chosen to play for next.

Fabrizio Romano, a tier one rated Football Park source, has confirmed that Reus and his entourage are in discussions with the MLS side in sorting out the final agreements over his contract. The deal should be completed within the next couple of days and LA Galaxy will unveil him to their fans soon.

In 429 games for Dortmund, Marco registered 170 goals and provided 131 assists. He will go down in history as one of their all-time players with his loyalty to his boyhood club adored by fans all over the world.

Reus has had the opportunity to move onto some of the biggest clubs in Europe over the years, like many of his former teammates, but he always put Borussia Dortmund first. In his career he has been riddled with injury problems, but he has consistently pushed through them where most would give up.

His trophy cabinet consists of two DFB Pokals and 3 German Super Cups. It will always be a question of what could have been without his injuries as he was unfortunate to miss out on Germany’s 2014 World Cup winning squad with injury, falling short in the 22/23 Bundesliga title race on the last day and achieving two UEFA Champions League runners-up medals, most recently last season which could have been the ultimate Dortmund send off.

LA Galaxy will pick up an excellent player but now at the age of 35, it is uncertain how long Marco Reus can perform at the levels we are used to seeing him play at.
