Leicester specifically had been long term admirers of the forward but, with the mentioned interest from other clubs, the Championship side faced an uphill battle to secure his signature and ended up losing out to a top division European club in Mainz.
The interest in Boving arose after a very promising campaign last season which saw him score 11 goals and get 6 assists for Sturm Graz.
