Lincoln City Secure Deadline Day Deals for Duo

Lincoln City have signed Adam Reach on a free transfer from Wycombe Wanderers, and Finley Barbrook on a loan deal from Ipswich Town, Pete O’Rourke confirms.

Michael Skubala’s side have had one of the quieter League One transfer windows this season. However, summer activity has not seemed necessary, with the Imps sitting a point outside the playoffs in 9th.

Imps Add Experience and Potential to Their Ranks

The pair of transfers sees players at opposite ends of their career paths move to Lincolnshire. Reach recorded 375 Championship appearances for Sheffield Wednesday, West Bromwich Albion, Middlesbrough, and Preston North End, playing in almost every outfield position possible, but predominantly on the left hand side.

After leaving WBA a year ago, Reach spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign at Wycombe Wanderers, returning to the third tier after eleven years away. The winger will provide plenty of EFL experience, bolstering Lincoln’s attacking options and linking up with fellow Football League stalwart James Collins.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Barbrook is yet to play higher than National League level. Spending the last two seasons on loan at Sutton United and Chelmsford in the non-league. The midfield talent had an eye-catching year at Sutton, winning their Young Player of the Year and Player's Player of the Year awards.

Barbrook’s fine form has earned him the chance to test himself in the third tier, whilst Ipswich continue to monitor his progress.

In an attempt to replicate the success of the 2020/21 season, which saw the Imps reach the League One playoff final. Lincoln have added invaluable squad depth to their ranks for an extremely low cost. Allowing Reach to continue enjoying his football at the age of 32, and Barbrook the opportunity to learn from a plethora of EFL professionals.
