Fabrizio Romano, tier one Football Park rated source has reported that Giorgi Mamardashvili has signed for the Merseyside club for an agreed package worth €35 million plus sell on clauses.
What might be strange about this deal though is that he wont actually play for Liverpool until 2025. The Georgian keeper will remain at his current club Valencia on loan until the end of the current season before joining up with the Liverpool squad next year.
He was a beast during Euro 2024 and a key reason as to why Georgia made it to the Round of 16 when most had written them off. He produced incredible numbers of averaging 7.5 saves per 90 minutes and statistically prevented 4.7 goals across the tournament.
Domestically last season and it is a similar story. Over the course of 37 games in La Liga, he ended the campaign with a 74% save percentage from 158 shots faced. He saved 108 shots, 25 more in comparison to current Liverpool shot stopper Alisson Becker. He was the highest ranked goalkeeper for goals prevented with 9.26 and kept 13 clean sheets. Valencia gave away a total of six penalties last season, but Mamardashvili saved three of them, leaving him with a 50% penalty save percentage which doesn’t seem like much but that is actually quite impressive.
Alisson reveals he rejected interest from Saudi Arabia this summer and plans to stay at Liverpool for many years to come.

Also, he says Liverpool told him of their interest in Giorgi Mamardashvili and believes he would be a good signing. https://t.co/OriFM96Wlj
Football Park rated tier two source Paul Joyce has revealed that Alisson was actually consulted about this move first amid rumours that the Brazilian would soon make a move to Saudi Arabia but he is happy at the club and wishes to honour his contract that sees him stay at Anfield until 2027.
Mamardashvili is clearly one for the future and with him coming to Liverpool with the ability he has and the chance to receive some mentoring from the best goalkeeper in the world in Alisson, the sky is the limit for Giorgi Mamardashvili.
