Liverpool Look to Add Youri Baas to Jeremy Jacquet in Defensive Overhaul

Liverpool has already made one centre-back signing this window and they look to be wanting to add another name to that list of defenders. As reported by DaveOCKOP on X, Youri Baas is one of the new names on that list.

The 22-year-old Ajax defender has enjoyed a good start to the 2025/26 season having played 27 matches and seen 5 goal involvements. It is no shock that he drew attention from the elite clubs in Europe and Liverpool looks to be front runners in bringing him to the Premier League.

It looks like Liverpool is looking to add even more names to their defensive rota as they have struggled with injuries. They will be hoping with his addition they can push for that Champions League spot this season.

Youri Baas Set for Liverpool Move

Youri Baas is enjoying a second season after coming back to Ajax and it looks like that ability that he has put on shown has placed him in prime position for the next young Ajax defender to get a big move in Europe. He would be following names such as Matthijas de Ligt and Jorrel Hato.

Liverpool is looking to completely rebuild their defence in this window and after signing Jeremy Jacquet this window, it seems that they are far from done and this deal would see them sign another young defender to help them now and for the future going forward.

Elsewhere in Liverpool, they have completed the signing of French defender Jeremy Jacquet and forced Chelsea to look elsewhere for a new defensive option as we get closer to the end of the window.

Youri Baas has been having a very strong season so far showing his impressive defensive abilities. Along with his defensive abilities his offensive abilities have been on full show for everyone to see, his ability to win fouls and be dangerous going forward. Liverpool could have a gem on their hands.
