Liverpool reject bid for Portuguese forward
Liverpool have rejected an offer in the region of £15 million from Southampton for Fabio Carvalho, according to David Ornstein, who Football Park ranks as a tier one source.
The Merseyside club are not willing to let the 21-year-old go out on loan again and any permanent proposal would have to be significantly higher than Southampton’s bid.

Since signing from Fulham in 2022, Carvalho has not had the best of luck playing under Jurgen Klopp. In his first season, the forward made 21 club appearances and contributed to only three goals in all competitions. Many Reds fans thought that they would have the chance to see more of Carvalho in the following seasons, however this did not turn out to be the case.
For the first half of the 2023/24 campaign, the 21-year-old was loaned out to German side RB Leipzig. Once again though, Carvalho struggled for playing time, only managing 360 minutes over the course of the loan period. Upon his return to Merseyside in January, he was immediately sent back out on loan, this time to Championship side Hull City. Unlike the previous two years, Carvalho had a promising spell with the Tigers. In only 20 league matches, he tallied an impressive 11 goal contributions as the club narrowly missed out on the play-offs.

Congratulations, Fábs 👏#hcafc
During pre-season, Carvalho has featured several times for Liverpool, helping them win three consecutive matches against Real Betis, Manchester United and Arsenal. The forward scored against both English sides. It has been reported that new Reds boss Arne Slot has been impressed with the 21-year-old’s performances this summer.

If Liverpool were to sell the 21-year-old this summer, Fulham would also benefit from a potential deal. The Cottagers inserted a 20% sell-on clause in the deal that took Carvalho to Anfield.
