Liverpool Starlet Closes on EFL Loan

Liverpool youngster Kaide Gordon is closing in on a loan move to Blackpool, with the 20-year-old winger set to joing Blackpool as the transfer window reaches into it's final hour.

Gordon, who came through the ranks at Derby County before joining Liverpool as a teenager in 2021, spent last season on loan in the Championshp across spells with Norwich City and Portsmouth, making 15 league appearances betweent the two sides, scoring once.

He is set to complete his medical with The Tangerins shortly, and will ply his trade in League One for the coming season.

Fresh Opportunity for Gordon

Kaide Gordon will be relishing the opportunity to take up his place on loan at Bloomfield Road for the rest of the 25/26 campaign.

The 20-year-old is a highly-regarded member of the Liverpool academy - for whom he has made seven first-team appearances, scoring once - but struggled in his spells with Portsmouth and Norwich last season, struggling to displace the likes of Emiliano Marcondes with The Canaries, and then Josh Murphy with Pompey.

Gordon will be taking a step down through the pyramid to link up with Steve Bruce's side, and will hope he can take on a resurgance in his promising young career, potentially echoing the like of Louie Barry, who starred for Stockport County in the first half of last season having taken a step down through the leagues.

The deal taking Gordon to Blackpool will be a straight season-long loan with no option to buy, Football Park understands. He signed a "long-term" contract with The Reds in May of last year, with Liverpool still holding the talented winger in high regard.
