Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Stats

The last time these two sides met the Reds took all three points as they had to come behind after a Jean-Philippe Mateta opener, with Mohamed Salah equalising before Harvey Elliott scored a stoppage-time winner.

Crystal Palace havent won against Liverpool since April 2017, which ended a three-season streak of Palace winning at Anfield.

Recent history is very much in Liverpool’s favour with 12 wins and 2 draws since that loss in 2017.

The overall head to head record between the two sides leans Liverpool’s way as well with the Reds having 36 wins, 13 draws and only 14 losses, with a win percentage of 57%.

Salah

Liverpool’s top scorer this season is Mohamed Salah with 23 goals this season. The Egyptian has 17 in the league and is currently only 2 goals behind Erling Haaland who is currently ahead with 19.

In second place for Liverpool is Darwin Núñez with 18 goals already this season. The Uruguayan has had a much improved season compared to his first in the Premier League and has caused chaos for defenders this time around.

In third for Liverpool both Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo are tied on 14 goals each. Liverpool will hope Jota can return to full fitness soon as their current finishing problems would be helped by his presence.

Liverpool’s top assister is Darwin Núñez with 13 assists so far this season. With strong numbers in both goals and assists, Núñez is doing Bobby Firmino proud in the number 9 shirt. In second for Liverpool it’s Salah with 12.

Liverpool’s Egyptian King as always has been their most reliable player this season and will be a massive reason for Liverpool’s success if they are to win the title. In third for Liverpool it’s Trent Alexander-Arnold. The English full-back is still out with an injury and will hopefully return soon for the Reds.

Mateta

Crystal Palace’s top scorer this season is Jean-Philippe Mateta with 10 goals across the season. Mateta will look to score again against the reds this season on Sunday and hope to get the result they were close to getting back in December.

In second for Palace it’s Odsonne Édouard. The french striker actually has the same goals per 90 as Mateta but hasn’t matched the form he started life in Red and White with back in 2021.

In third for Palace both Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise are tied with 6. Both of these players are crucial for Palace, but if they are to stop being a low mid-table club, these players are going to have to get better numbers.

Jordan Ayew leads the way in assists for Crystal Palace with 7 this season. Both Eberechi Eze are level with 4 each for the Eagles. Clearly Mateta will be the one to watch for Palace.
