He's in the middle of his own concert, and he completely sacks off his performance to watch England vs Mexico on a comedically large screen in the arena. A screen that, you would think, would be showing... oh, I don't know... Louis Tomlinson?

To everyone around the world, their job is their job and that is where the line ends. It doesn't matter if you're a line manager at Maccies, an insurance broker or a world-famous, globally-popular British singer. If the opportunity to skive off arrives, even if only briefly, to watch a national treasure sportsman slam home a penalty to hand an advantage to the nation in a World Cup, you damn well take it. Well, that's exactly what Louis Tomlinson did during his concert in the United States recently.

The concert was being held in Charlotte, North Carolina, which essentially meant that not one of the girls in the crowd could have ruffled together even the slightest of shits to give about Thomas Tuchel's exploits against Mexico. Frankly, that just makes his celebrations mid-performance all the better whilst proudly flaunting his England top on stage. Bet a fella earning his crust doesn't need to trawl through the depths of DHGate for his football strips, mind you...

Tomlinson Defenceless (Get It?) as Singer Branded 'Disrespectful'

Not like the English media to blow a thing or two out of proportion is it, eh?

The 34-year-old Doncaster-born singer is a massive football fan and a half-decent player - he's appeared at Soccer Aid on a few occasions and used to be on the books at his beloved Doncaster Rovers.

So this deep-rooted passion for the sport was evident as Tomlinson interrupted his performance by halting his singing to watch Harry Kane step up to the penalty spot with England leading 2-1 in a tense knockout tie with Mexico. Kane netted the penalty, and Tomlinson continued not to sing as he wheeled away pumping his fists (some of his fans might have been jealous of his fists).

But, of course, social media's miserable, ugly head reared once again with a number of people putting the former 1D singer on blast.

One person simply commented: "What the fuck."

While another added: "I’m sorry... but that is so disrespectful to fans and lacks professionalism."

A third chimed in: "The bare minimum is pretending the thing everyone paid for is happening."

While a fourth asked: "Why would he do this?"

Fucking give over, chapettes. It's coming home, you can't do anything about it, and it means more than a poxy concert.
