Vazquez, known for his versatility as both a right-back and right-winger, made 38 appearances across all competitions for Los Blancos last season. He played a crucial role in Real Madrid’s double triumph, securing both the La Liga and Champions League titles.
Notably, he made a late substitute appearance in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.
Initially serving as Dani Carvajal’s understudy during the first half of the season, Vazquez’s importance grew as the campaign progressed. His standout moment came with an impressive performance in April's Clasico victory over Barcelona.
A product of Madrid’s esteemed academy, Vazquez has remained loyal to the club, except for a season-long loan at Espanyol in 2014-15. In recent years, he has preferred to renew his contract on an annual basis.
Vazquez’s new deal comes hot on the heels of Luka Modric's one-year extension, confirmed just last Thursday. However, Real Madrid has seen the departure of long-serving players Nacho and Toni Kroos this summer, with Nacho joining Al-Qadsiah and Kroos opting for retirement.
