This summer has seen a lot of drama around some of the moves. However, the main one towards the backend of the window has to be Malick Fofana. It looked as if Crystal Palace were going to sign the 21-year-old. The answer wasn’t that easy.

Fofana saw the light. The Stadium of Light. Sunderland turned out to be his destination. However, Palace were still flying around, looking to see if it was dead and over. However, finally, we have an answer.

David Ornstein has confirmed that Fofana has completed his medical with Sunderland and is due to join Sunderland on Wednesday to sign his five-year contract with the Black Cats. The hijack of the summer was complete.

What a hijack this was. One of the most talented wingers in Europe, and he will be not just playing in the Prem, but also in Europe with Sunderland. They have done it again, another stunning signing.

Will this be a transfer we look back on and say, “Wow, £30 million, what a steal,” or one that we say, “Wow, Palace were lucky they dodged a bullet”?
