Manchester City Considering Deal For Bruno Guimarães

17/06/24 14:41

According to Rob Dawson, who Football Park consider as a tier two for reliability, Premier League winners Manchester City will consider signing Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães if he asks to leave Newcastle.

Guimarães currently still has a contract at the Premier League club until 2028 but the contract contains a £100m release clause which will run out at the end of June, which manager Eddie Howe announced in April.

The 26-year-old joined Newcastle in 2022 for €42.1m and has since been an important figure for the club on and off the pitch.

Last season alone, he started 37 out of 38 Premier League fixtures and was involved in 18% of the goals scored by his team.

Guimarães himself said in June that he was happy at the club but is not fully certain about his future.

Although City are interested in signing the midfielder, they do not value him at £100m and would therefore not be willing to pay the full sum.

Guimarães is currently valued at around £85m on Transfermarkt.
