Mansfield Town Agree Deal for Birmingham Attacker

Wales and Birmingham City winger Tyler Roberts is closing in on a move to League One side Mansfield Town, as the transfer window enters into it's final few hours, as per Football League World.

The 26-year-old forward is out of favour at St. Andrews this summer, having spent last season enduring a fairly fruitless spell on loan with Northampton, for whom he scored once and assisted twice from 31 appearances in all competitions.

Roberts will be hoping to re-ignite his once-promising career with The Stags, with a cocktail of injuries and changing managers at Birmingham limiting his opportunities and performances in the Second City.

Roberts Bound For Stags

Tyler Roberts' time at Birmingham City, it is fair to say, has not gone truly to plan.

The Welshman, who was the first signing of the Tom Wagner era in the West Midlands, endured a miserable first campaign with the club, finding just one solitary goal contribution from 17 league games as Birmingham were relegated to League One, with a heel injury shortly after his debut negatively limiting his impact in blue.

He would then play no part in their league-smashing return to the second tier, and has not even been named in any of the club's squads so far this season, nor is he named as part of the club's first-team squad, according to the club website.

Roberts has undertaken his medical at Field Mill, and an announcement is believed to be imminent for the 20-time Wales international, who will join The Stags on loan for the rest of the season.
