Millwall and Spurs agree a fee for defender

It has recently been reported that Millwall have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for the permanent transfer of Japhet Tanganga.

Dan Marsh first reported on Sunday that, following the bid being accepted, The South-East London club will now work on agreeing personal terms for the versatile defender.

Tanganga has been at Millwall on loan since January, and has impressed fans and the club hierarchy with his performances. This isn’t a surprise, given Tanganga was once a regular starter at White Hart Lane.

Millwall’s form turned around in the second half of the season, after Neil Harris was appointed, and Tanganga starred as The Lions won their last five games to finish a respectable 13th.

Tanganga joined the Championship outfit on loan after a failed stint at Augsburg in the Bundesliga, where he didn’t play a single minute of football.

Millwall have moved early for the transfer, anticipating competition from other Championship teams for Tanganga’s signature.
