Nacho Fernandez to Leave Real Madrid After 23 Years
Real Madrid and Spain defender Nacho Fernandez is set to sign for Al Qadsiah having agreed a two-year contract with the club.
The announcement was shared by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano who Football Park rate as a tier one source when it comes to reliability.

He’s set to sign two year contract with Saudi Pro League club, once documents are reviewed and approved.

Al Qadsiah will be playing in the Saudi Pro League next season having just won promotion finishing as champions of the Saudi First Division.
The Spanish international was previously in talks with Al Ittihad, however it is understood Fernandez has accepted a deal put forward by Al Qadsiah.
It is believed the 34-year-old never considered a move to another club in Europe out of his respect for Real Madrid.
His contract expires at the end of this month with the defender weighing up his options after winning his 26th trophy with Los Blancos against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League earlier this month.
Fernandez has enjoyed more than two decades at his boyhood club having joined Real Madrid’s youth system at the age of 11. He made his senior debut in April 2011 before becoming a permanent member of the first team at the start of the 2013/14 campaign.
Known for his versatility across the defensive line he has been deployed as a centre, left and right back under different managers at the Bernabeu.
Despite never being a regular starter for Los Blancos, Fernandez has cemented himself as a fan favourite in Madrid, giving absolutely everything for the famous white shirt. He was a reliable figure in the dressing room providing exceptional work rate, agility and technical prowess when called upon.
The defender will depart Madrid having won absolutely everything including four La Liga titles, two Copa Del Rey, five Supercopa de Espana, three UEFA Super Cup’s, five FIFA Club World Cup’s and a staggering six UEFA Champions League victories.

Fernandez made 364 appearances for Real Madrid scoring 16 times for the club.
The Champions League triumph at the beginning of the month saw his trophy tally become a club record matched only by Croatian midfielder Luka Modric.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti will have to choose his next captain with Fernandez given the armband following the departure of French talisman Karim Benzema in June 2023.
