Newcastle Closing in on Premier League Star

04/06/24 11:44

Newcastle United are finalising the formal details in their move for Lloyd Kelly.

It looks as if the Bournemouth defender will be heading up to St James’ Park on a free transfer, after his contract on the south coast comes to an end.

Kelly has spent five years at Bournemouth since signing from Bristol City back in 2019. In that time he’s racked up over 100 appearances and even captained the Cherries on several occasions.

It appeared Newcastle would face competition from Tottenham, after they enquired about signing the defender last summer. Thankfully for The Magpies, they seem to have all but secured Kelly’s signature.

Comfortable both at centre-back and left-back, Kelly will provide excellent competition across the Newcastle defence.

Newcastle also were plotting another free transfer for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, but were beaten to the signing by Chelsea.
