The 21-year-old has been on the bench a lot of this season with the first team finally getting some minutes off the bench in Newcastle’s latest match against Liverpool. This lack of game time gave some hope to some League One clubs about landing him on a loan.
It looks like he will stay over the decision to recall Matt Targett from Middlesbrough.
The 21-year-old looks to be staying put at Newcastle and will be seen as one of their first team defensive covers for left back Lewis Hall. This could see the young man getting more minutes than what he has seen before and the trust and faith that the club has in him.
His potential has been shown on his previous loan spell that he spent at Bolton Wanderers as well as during his time in the academy for Newcastle. With the faith that Eddie Howe has shown in the fullback, he could be having a strong end of the season in white and black for Newcastle.
Elsewhere in Newcastle, they look to be fighting off Arsenal as the gunners look to bolster their midfield with Italy international Sandro Tonali.
After Eddie Howe has put his foot down, it looks like Alex Murphy will be staying at Newcastle and will be hoping with this clear trust from his manager that he can add to his minutes played this season and finally break into the first team. After 42 matches in the Newcastle academy, he will be hoping he can show his quality in the Premier League.
