Newcastle United Remain Interested In Watford Talent

Newcastle United are still interested in signing 19-year-old Mamadou Doumbia from Championship side Watford according to The Chronicle.

The Mali international has attracted interest from a whole host of clubs, including Premier League teams Crystal Palace and Burnley.

Eddie Howe already has two superstar strikers in Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, however Doumbia would provide a different attacking option.

Will Doumbia sign for Newcastle United this transfer window?

The Magpies haven't disguised the fact that they have an interest in the Watford youngster, as the club has scouted Doumbia over the recent months.

However if Newcastle were to make a move for Doumbia, it would most likely come in the summer to see how the striker progresses throughout the rest of the season at Watford.

The former AS Black Stars player has made 19 appearances for The Hornets so far this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist. On the international stage, the Mali forward has made five appearances for his national team, scoring once and providing an assist.
