Nottingham Forest Lead The Race For Southampton Star

06/06/24 15:48

It is being reported that Nottingham Forest now lead the race to sign Southampton striker Che Adams this summer.

The Scotland international was a key part of Southampton’s play-off winning team, scoring 15 goals in 40 appearances in the Championship, and now he is a key target for a number of Premier League sides.

Adams' contract is set to expire at the end of the month making him available as a free agent. However, talks are rumoured to be ongoing with Southampton over a potential new contract, despite the links of his exit.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side appear to be eyeing up some more experienced players this summer as they look to survive in the Premier League another year. This after surviving by the skin of their teeth this past season.

Considering Adams spent four years in the top flight with the Saints, scoring 25 goals in that time, it could be a very good starting point.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest are “confident” they can get the deal done for the 27 year old as they edge ever closer to an agreement.

Wolves and Everton are also linked with the striker but it is looking more and more likely that a move to the City Ground is on the cards for Adams.
