Orlando Set to Make Move for Siwelele Starlet

It is widely expected that Orlando Pirates will lose their talented winger, Relebohile Mofokeng, in the coming summer transfer window with clubs from across the continent and Europe interested in signing him.

The 21-year-old has 10 goals and seven assists in a standout campaign in the South African Premiership this season, and his exploits on the domestic stage mean that he is expected to make the Bafana Bafana squad that will head to the 2026 World Cup.

With their talisman set for a move away, the Bucs are now looking into a move for a potential Mofokeng replacement - they have opened negotiations now with Siwelele FC over 19-year-old winger Bohlala Ngwato, who has been deemed as one of the most promising talents in South Africa.

The Pirates do hold a lot of options when it comes to the attack, but losing Mofokeng in the transfer window this summer would present a big loss for the club. As such, they are looking to take stock and replace him with another exciting, young, dynamic talent.

Ngwato Closes on Pirates Switch

The reports for this deal come from KickOff, who claim that a deal taking the 19-year-old to Orlando Pirates is 'as good as done'.

Furthermore, former Chippa United coach Thabo September has explained why the teenager will bring a positive impact to Pirates.

Former Chippa United coach Thabo September was also quoted in regards to what Ngwato may bring to Soweto following any potential transfer in the summer, and he predicted a positive impact for the club in replacement of Mofokeng:

“He is a very good boy, well-disciplined both on and off the field. When was at the academy, he was still at school and was doing well.

“He is a very good player and skillful. He can run in and out and cross the ball, more like how Daine Klate used to do. You must not look at his body, he is very strong and hardworking,” he concluded.

Kgositsile Also Expected in Summer Rebuild

Kabelo Kgositsile, currently out on loan with Baroka from Orlando Pirates after agreeing a pre-transfer between the clubs with a loan back to Baroka until the end of the season, will make a permanent move to Soweto ahead of next season as was confirmed by chairman Khurishi Mphahlele:

“Kabelo Kgositsile will be moving to Orlando Pirates at the end of the season. The transfer is still in progress, and nothing has changed. He is currently an Orlando Pirates player.

“Losing a talent of his calibre may be challenging, but it is part of the sport. I must return to grassroots development and identify the next talented player.”
