Oxford and Blackburn go head to head for Welsh Future Star

Oxford United are the front runners to reunite with former Brentford youngster Fin Stevens after an unsuccessful move to St. Pauli.

The Welsh international joined the German side back in the summer of 2024, following on from a successful loan spell at Oxford.

Stevens time at the Kassam

The 22-year-old defender had a great time over in Oxford featuring 43 times, netting a goal and 5 assists from the back.

He was a rock at the back this season as the club achieved promotion to the Championship.

This success attracted numerous sides but Stevens chose St. Pauli, but things have not gone to plan.

Playing just twice last season and yet to play a single minute this season, it's time for him to move on and a return to England seems likely.

Meanwhile, Blackburn’s interest highlights just how highly rated Stevens remains despite his struggles in Germany.

Blackburn have also had mass interest in Stevens but that deal looks to have fell through.

The player has travelled to Oxford ahead of a medical and he looks to have his heart set on a return.

At just 22, there is still significant room for development, and regular Championship football could be exactly what he needs to kickstart his career again.
