Palace Can't Say No as Burnley Come Knocking

Crystal Palace have been busy this window. They have seen many players leave the club, and they might not be done yet. Burnley are looking for something to help add depth in the middle of the park. Somehow, Palace are the side they’ve gone to.

Burnley are looking to try and boost their side after a poor start to the Championship, and one of the names they believe can do this is 31-year-old Will Hughes. The midfield general is the name at the top of their list.

After playing 31 games last season, you would expect Palace to try and keep hold of him as squad depth, especially with Europe ahead of them. That is the opposite of what Palace believe. In fact, they are looking to get this deal done on Burnley’s terms.

The current terms wouldn’t see him leave the club on a permanent deal; in fact, it would be a season-long loan. This would suit Burnley and their current financial situation; however, for Palace, this makes no sense.

While he wouldn’t start, he could allow for rest and rotation, adding depth that they simply no longer have.
