Derby County and USA striker Patrick Agyemang was forced off the field in Derby County's 2-0 win over Stoke City in the EFL Championship this weekend after an unfortunate non-contact injury.
The former Charlotte forward rose to bring a ball down in the 37th minute and collapsed awkwardly to the ground, with images from Pride Park showing Derby's medical staff tending to his left ankle.
Derby County striker Patrick Agyemang suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury against Stoke City, which will see him out for around 9-12 months.

On-site witnesses stated that the 25-year-old jumped to control a flighted ball with his chest before landing badly on his left side and falling to the ground. Play was halted for five minutes before a visibly distraught Agyemang was stretchered off the field with his leg strapped up.
His replacement, 21-year-old Holland forward Jaydon Banel, netted the opening goal in the 54th minute before Carlton Morris added a second to boost the Rams' hopes of promotion to the Premier League for next season.
The result left Derby in 8th-place in the EFL Championship, level on points but behind on goal difference to in-form Southampton in seventh and just one point behind Wrexham in 6th - the lowest attainable playoff position.
Eustace: "We'll Wait and See"
Speculation on social media has stated that the injury suffered by Agyemang is an apparent serious Achilles tendon injury, which could see him shelved for as little as nine months.
Rams boss John Eustace was quizzed by journalists on the incident after the game, saying:
“No [update] yet. He’s gone off for a scan, so we’ll wait and see the results of that.
“It’s not [nice to see]. We don’t want to lose any players. We don’t want to see any players coming off on a stretcher. Hopefully, it’s not as bad as what it might be. Until we get the scan results, we’ll have to wait and see.”

The timing of the injury could not come at a more troubling time for Agyemang. The 25-year-old striker debuted for the United States amidst on of Mauricio Pochettino's first breaks as national manager.
The striker has adapted well to the English game in his first Championship campaign since leaving MLS outfit Charlotte FC in July, netting 10 goals and adding three assists from 36 league showings.
He has also been a regular fixture in Pochettino's squads since the Argentine's appointment. Despite the striker position being one of the most stacked areas of the USMNT's dossier of playing staff, Agyemang was picked along with AS Monaco star Folarin Balogun and PSV Eindhoven forward Ricardo Pepi on the roster for the recent March break. He was the only one of the forward's to find the net, scoring the last goal of a 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Belgium on the 28th of March.
