Pavlidis Set For AZ Alkmaar Exit

Benfica are currently in negotiations of AZ Alkmaar striker Vangelis Pavlidis.

The proposed fee is €17 million plus €2 million in bonuses.

The Greek bagsman racked up an outstanding 29 goals in the Eredivisie, sharing the top spot with PSV Eindhoven’s Luuk de Jong.

With one year left on his contract, the Portuguese side are cashing in on that fact as normally his market value is €25 million according to Transfermarkt.

Matteo Moretto, tier 2 rated source for reliability by Football Park has been the one to break the news, suggesting that the two sides are very close to closing the deal. The move coming about now because Pavlidis given his availability to the transfer.

Benfica have bought three strikers in the past three seasons so hopefully Pavlidis can hit the ground running because Marcos Leonardo has a lot of potential and can easily set Liga Portugal alight after a promising first season so it will be a tough fight between the pair of them on who gets that starting spot up top.
