Poland vs Austria Predictions

Poland and Austria will be looking for a change in fortunes after starting their campaign with narrow first group game defeats against the Netherlands and France respectively when they meet in Berlin at 5pm on Friday.

Poland are set to be given a huge boost with the return of Robert Lewandowski, who has seemingly recovered from a hamstring problem picked up in the warm-up games.

Lewandowski, who contributed 26 goals and 9 assists for Barcelona in all competitions this season, will likely replace targetman Adam Buksa, who will feel hard-done-by after a positive goal scoring performance last time out.

Austria face no real selection issues, and will be full of confidence after a stubborn showing against France in which they only saw defeat via an unfortunate own goal.

However, they will be looking for a more potent and dynamic attacking combination, and after positive signs off the bench against the French, Marko Arnautovic could start ahead of 193cm tall Michael Gregoritsch, after his lack of involvement in the previous fixture.

The game looks likely to decide who takes 3rd place in the group, the team who finishes there having the chance of qualifying as one out of four best 3rd placed teams.
