Port Vale are closing in on the signing of 30-year-old York City forward Ollie Pearce, Football Park understands.
Pearce, who netted a mighty 31 goals in last season's National League, has been tipped for a move away from the Minstermen for the majority of the summer, with Football League (EFL) sides being linked with his services for the majority of the summer.
The striker is set to move to Vale Park before the transfer window closes at 7pm tonight.
The news that Ollie Pearce is due for a move into the Football League will come as almost no surprise to those who witnessed his antics for York City last season.

The 30-year-old striker was in lethal form over the course of the 24/25 campaign, netting a huge 31 goals in the National League last season, whilst laying on a further eight assists for his teammates. Known for his explosive finishing and powerful hold-up play, Pearce's move to Port Vale is one that brings plenty of intrigue, and hope that he can make the step up.
Pearce will sign a 2-year contract with the Valiants, and should be a done deal by the time the transfer window shuts this evening.
