Port Vale Striker set for move to the Championship Leaders

St. Johnstone close to signing Ruari Paton, on loan from Port Vale

Scottish Championship leaders St. Johnstone are close to another signing during this transfer window in the hopes of securing promotion back to the Premiership, at the first season of asking.

After adding Alfie Agyeman and Josh Fowler, the Saints are close to signing Ruari Paton on loan from Sky Bet League One side Port Vale.

The Courier's Eric Nicolson is reporting that Paton, who has been a long time target for St. Johnstone, is likely to join until the end of the season.

Paton has featured in 22 games for Port Vale this season and scored six goals over the course of this season and will be adding more firepower to a club that is already the Championship's top scorers.
