The People’s Winger? Premier League Star’s Royal Hairstyles Go Viral

We've seen Royals step onto the hallowed turf of a football pitch on a great number of occasions.

Mike Tindall, former rugby star and husband to Zara, daughter of Princess Anne, has had his fair share of charity footy match showings, whilst Prince William is a common sight in the grandstands of cup finals at Wembley Stadium, as well as England games and those of his beloved Aston Villa.

And who could forget Faiq Bolkiah? The nephew of the Sultan of Brunei who played for Southampton, Chelsea and Leicester City in his youth before turning out in the Thai Premier League for Ratchaburi in the present, who is the richest footballer on the planet with an estimated net worth of £20b (not that this was bolstered by his sporting career, he was pretty dreadful).

But how about a Royal prancing down the left wing at St James' Park? A Royal beloved over the country sliding through the back of Virgil van Dijk at an enraged pace? A Royal seemingly just as adept at cutting in from the left flank for a sight at goal as they are at advocating for the banishment of landmines?

When watching Newcastle United, you may just think that character is one Anthony Gordon. However, one user over on X managed to pick out a striking resemblance from Gordon's hairstyles to those of the late Princess Diana...

Anthony Gordon's Royal Do's

The resemblance, in all fairness, is uncanny.

However, one fan may have seen the resemblance between Diana and Gordon as something maybe a little more introspective than merely hairstyles...

And in the same reply section on X, another user sought out a striking match between Gordon and another British icon (for other reasons, of course)...

He has a point!
