It is understood that Preston North End are showing great interest in 18 year old Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong, as Mike Keegan reports. Armstrong who made three appearances last campaign, came off the bench in the first home game at the new stadium against Brighton on Sunday. He was a bright spark in their EFL cup clash with Mansfield midweek, starting the game and providing two assists as well as picking up the man of the match award.
The Merseyside born Armstrong had a spell on loan at Derby County from February last season and now Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom looks to make a new addition to his side in the next days. David Moyes admitted himself in today's press conference that he faces a 'dilemma' over the interest for Armstrong. Speaking on the young midfielders behalf Moyes added.
He played really well in midweek. He showed he has the potential to be a future Everton player that's for sure.

Armstrong had a taste for the Championship last season making 15 appearances during his short spell at Pride Park. Despite having limited time with The Rams, Armstrong produced some impressive performances. He picked up the man of the match award in his first start, a quite superb home display against Blackburn in March.
He's been praised for his composure on the ball at such a young age and has a calmness to the way that he plays in the middle of the park. He joined Everton his boyhood club at the age of just five so is a player that The Toffees will be looking to keep hold of long term.

If Preston can get Armstrong on loan it will be a fantastic bit of business, with a suggestion that Derby County are also exploring another loan for the player. Preston who just avoided relegation will be looking to climb up the table this season and have already looked to the top flight this window for incomings, acquiring the services of Daniel Jebbison of Bournemouth, Alfie Devine of Tottenham and Lewis Dobbin of Aston Villa all on loan.
